Our Voter Services team informs, registers, and engages voters across the Williamsburg area through nonpartisan outreach and education, reaching people where they are—from high schools to retirement communities.
James City County Recreation Center
The York–James City–Williamsburg Branch of the NAACP, with support from local Black fraternities and sororities, is hosting a community town hall on redistricting and related voting issues.
The session will include information on the upcoming Virginia referendum, the SAVE Act, and an educational discussion on gerrymandering and misinformation.

DEI and Voter Services go to local community events, schools, colleges, and other venues to register voters and answer voters‘ questions. Here we will be collaborating with YJCW NAACP
Virginia has scheduled a statewide special election on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 for voters to decide on a proposed amendment to the Virginia Constitution.
Ballot Question: "Should the Constitution of Virginia be amended to allow the General Assembly to temporarily adopt new congressional districts to restore fairness in the upcoming elections, while ensuring Virginia‘s standard redistricting process resumes for all future redistricting after the 2030 census?" (vote: YES or NO)
The Peninsula Unit of The League of Women Voters-Williamsburg Area hosts a discussion with Delegates Shelly Simonds (HD 70) and Virgil Thornton (HD 86) to discuss the successes and challenges of the recently concluded 2026 General Assembly session.
