Virginia will hold a General Election on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. Voters will elect federal representatives and decide three proposed amendments to the Virginia Constitution.

  • Virginia voters will elect a U.S. Senator.
  • Voters will elect members of the U.S. House of Representatives. Williamsburg, James City County, and York County are in Virginia's 1st Congressional District.
  • All Virginia voters will consider three proposed amendments to the Virginia Constitution.

Three Amendments

Three Proposed Constitutional Amendments

Virginia voters will also decide three proposed amendments to the Virginia Constitution. The League of Women Voters of Virginia supports all three proposed amendments.

Question 1 — Reproductive Freedom
Would amend the Virginia Constitution to protect decisions involving reproductive health care, subject to provisions and limitations contained in the proposed amendment.

Question 2 — Marriage
Would remove the existing constitutional ban on same-sex marriage, affirm that two adults may marry regardless of sex, gender, or race, and require legally valid marriages to be treated equally under the law.

Question 3 — Voting Rights
Would establish a fundamental right to vote in Virginia, provide for automatic restoration of voting rights after release from incarceration for a felony conviction, and revise constitutional language concerning voting capacity.
