Members and friends of the League are invited to attend a free public program on transatlantic alliances at William & Mary on Monday, July 13.
The invitation was extended to our League by Professor Ryan A. Musto, a presenter in our 2026 Great Decisions program and director of the newly formed Robert M. Gates Initiative in American Statecraft within William & Mary’s Global Research Institute. Featuring Kori Schake, Director of Foreign and Defense Policy Studies at the American Enterprise Institute; Nathan Busch, Distinguished Professor of Political Science at Christopher Newport University; Susan Colbourn, Associate Director of the Duke Program in American Grand Strategy; and Jedidja Van Keulen, Strategic Deterrence Expert at NATO Allied Command Transformation.

Henry A. Kissinger Distinguished Professor of Global Affairs, Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies
“The Past, Present, and Future of the Transatlantic Alliance”
Professor Brands is the author or editor of several books on international strategy and great-power competition. He has also served as Special Assistant to the Secretary of Defense for Strategic Planning and as lead writer for the Commission on the National Defense Strategy for the United States.
The program will be followed by a cocktail reception with the distinguished speakers.
